"City Convenience - Village Charm"

This is not just an empty slogan.  Peoria Heights lies in the center of a metropolitan population base of around 300,000, but our Village has only about 6500 residents.  In other words, we have the opportunity to enjoy what a large city can offer, but we also can partake in the advantages that a small community gives . . . and they are many!

Peoria Heights has a vibrant and exciting shopping area . . . a throwback to the shopping you might remember from a generation or two ago.  Our housing is very affordable.  Our school district is small enough to allow students the opportunity to participate in any activity that they are interested in, but large enough to properly prepare them for college.

Our library building was recently built and has numerous activities throughout the year for all age groups, particularly for children.

We are very proud of our Village services.  We have a solid and professional Police Department.  Our Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance service have years of experience and are dedicated.  Our Public Works Department is strong and responsive to our Citizens' needs.

Our topography is always interesting and oft times breathtaking.  The Illinois River Valley offers scenery not readily available in the Midwest . . . and the best place to see it is from the Observation Tower in Tower Park.  Forest Park Nature Center has miles of hiking trails through the woods.

We have a storied and interesting history.  From known Indian settlements to the Duryea Automobile, to Alfresco Amusement Park to the Pabst Brewing Buildings and to Grand View Drive, we have a past that we are proud of and we are dedicated to recognizing it in the future.

In short, Peoria Heights is a great place to visit, and an even better place to live.  If you have any questions, need information or just want to say "hello", don't hesitate to contact me or anyone else at the Village Hall . . .  that's part of the "charm" of our Village!
